1995 December 1, World Aids Day Celebration with information sessions for the whole community by the Bela-Bela Welfare society. Community members requested the group to start working on HIV/Aids.

1996 26th January - The First meeting in response to call in the churches for volunteers (45) Deciding on a plan of action. The Election of the committee. Training of volunteers to conduct awareness campaigns in the country. May 1996 - Awareness campaigns weekly in schools, churches and social groupings.
1997 Youth (8) want to be trained to conduct awareness campaigns for peers. Training of counselling for Professional Nurses begins at Warmbaths Hospital. Assistance to hospital and Clinics with pre and post test counselling of patients
1998 Campaigns - Counselling - Training

1999 Formation of support group for PWA's and training of members to conduct awareness campaigns. First disclosure in the community by PWA's (2) PWA's join in training for counselling with the professional nurses. Involvement of PWA's in pre and post test counselling.

2000 PWA's become full time counsellors and campaigners

2001 HBC starts up - campaigning and counselling - linking of services through campaigns.

2002 HBC incorporates Care for orphaned children in the community - campaigning - counselling - training. Re-structuring of the project with appointment of coordinators.

2003 HBC and Orphan care split up with own coordinator Campaigning - counselling and training. Board of Directors is appointed

2004 ARV program by private Donor, SACBC, The South African Catholic Bishops Conference and CRS, catholic Relief services for 5 years initiated in September 2004.

A management committee was put into place to take care of daily activities and consists of the General Coordinator and all Sector Coordinators.

2005 Re-structuring, strenghtening and adaptation of all services rendered to incorporate the ARV roll out in the community. Initiatives are undertaken to document the program for the braoder SA society and beyond.
